What to expect
Saturday, October 31, at Scouts Camp Barnard, 3202 Young Lake Road in Otter Point. It is the Otter Point Firefighters Association’s annual Halloween night.
The bonfire is lit at 6:30 p.m., and at 7:30 the fireworks go up over Young Lake, which is about as good a backdrop as a Halloween display gets around here. The firefighters serve hot dogs and hot chocolate, and every kid gets a candy bag.
It is out past Sooke and it is a lakeside camp at night, so dress warm. The association’s page does not list a price, so check it before you go.
