Salt Spring is the largest of the southern Gulf Islands, known for its farm stands, its cheese, its artists and the Saturday Market in Ganges, which runs from spring to the end of October. Ruckle Provincial Park has the shoreline walks. The Penders are two islands joined by a one-lane bridge, quiet and forested and full of small coves. Mount Norman has the view, and the farmers market runs on Saturdays at the Community Hall from spring through the fall.
