What to expect
Saturday, October 24, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the entrance to West Shore Parks & Recreation, by the Little Friends Playground off Island Highway. Admission is free and there is nothing to register for.
Each family picks out one pumpkin, and there are Halloween crafts and a photo booth to fill the rest of the visit. Athletes from Jr. Westshore Rugby help run it, and Thrifty Foods sponsors it.
It goes ahead rain or shine, so dress the kids for the weather. A good low-key option for toddlers who are too small for a corn maze.
