Westhills Park Restoration and FireSmart Event
A free Saturday morning pulling invasive species and flammable wood out of Westhills Park in Langford. Tools, snacks, and water provided, all ages welcome, and the park is measurably better by lunch.
Saturday, October 17, 9:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Westhills Park on Dornier Road. The work is removing invasive species and the flammable wood that builds up on a dry Island hillside, which is both ecosystem restoration and FireSmart preparation for the houses backing onto it.
ReImagine West Shore brings the tools, the snacks, and the water. All ages are welcome, so it works as a morning out with kids who like being handed a job.
