Pop-Up Sewing Makerspace & Clothing Swap
Bring a half-finished sewing project to Gordon United Church on October 24 and a Langford tailor will help you get it done. The clothing swap alongside it runs 11 to 3 and you can just turn up.
Saturday, October 24 at Gordon United Church in Langford. Heather Ireland of Mythrose, a Langford tailor, upcycler and costume designer, brings three sewing machines, a serger and the rest of the kit, and talks you through whatever you are stuck on. Two workshop groups, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 3 p.m., both free but pre-registration is required.
One caveat worth reading before you sign up: this is for people already working on a project, not an introduction to sewing. Bring your fabric, your notions, and your machine if you have one.
The clothing swap runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is drop-in, no registration. If you have autumn and winter things to pass on, Gordon United is taking drop-offs Wednesday to Friday, October 21 to 23, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Run by ReImagine West Shore.
