Planning Your Year-Round Veggie Garden
A free Saturday-morning workshop in Langford on keeping a vegetable garden going through the whole year. Soil care, winter crops, and pests, at Gordon United Church. Pre-registration required.
Saturday, November 7, 10 a.m. to noon at Gordon United Church on Goldstream Avenue. Kayla Siefried from the Compost Education Centre covers soil care, protecting winter crops, and what to do about pests, aimed specifically at West Shore conditions rather than gardening in general.
The mild half of a Victoria winter is long enough to grow things in, which is the whole argument for the session. It is free, pre-registration is required, and note that this one was moved back a week from November 14.
