Art & Story Walk on Henderson Recreation Centre Chip Trail
An original Coast Salish story by artist Andrea Fritz is installed along the Henderson chip trail for a week. Walk the loop and read Crow Helps a Friend one panel at a time.
From September 25 to October 2, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, the chip trail at Henderson carries an original story called Crow Helps a Friend, written and illustrated by artist and author Andrea Fritz. It follows a wood duck and a crow, set in Coast Salish Traditional Territory, and it uses Indigenous storytelling and original art to carry the culture and language of the Hul’q’umi’num’ speaking Peoples.
You read it by walking it, which is the point. The trail is flat and short enough for young kids, and a week is a generous window to fit it in.
