What to expect
Saturday, October 31, 1 to 4:30 p.m., at Hillside Centre on Hillside Avenue. The trail runs through the mall itself, so it stays dry whatever the sky is doing.
About thirty shops take part. A handful, Bolen Books and Purdys among them, start handing out treats at 10 a.m., and the rest join in at 1. Guest Services has a treat for each child 12 and under, one per child while they last, and the child has to be there to get it.
One rule to know before you dress them: Hillside does not allow costume masks or face coverings inside the centre. Face paint is the way to go.
