Christos Papadopoulos: My Fierce Ignorant Step

Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7, both at 7:30 p.m., at the Royal Theatre, part of Dance Victoria’s Dance at the Royal series.

Christos Papadopoulos is a leading figure in Greek contemporary dance and a recent winner of Sadler’s Wells’ Rose International Dance Prize. His company, The Lion and the Wolf, is on its debut Canadian tour. In My Fierce Ignorant Step, nine dancers build a soundscape of voice and movement out of the sounds Papadopoulos remembers from his childhood in Greece. He’s known for spare, minimalist pieces with a strong sense of music.

Tickets are through the Royal and McPherson Theatres box office. Dance Victoria’s page doesn’t list a single-ticket price, so check it at the box office.
