What to expect
Free, open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and running from October 15 to November 8. The Main Gallery, the Cubes, and Case 3 go to Visible, a group exhibition from the Serota Arts Group. Phyllis Serota is 87 and has taught and mentored a good share of Victoria’s painters; since 1994 she has run a monthly tutorial group out of her studio, and most of its current members have been part of it for more than 25 years. The show is about older women refusing to be overlooked, and the artists are Phyllis Serota, Betsy Tumansonis, Judy Kujundzic, Katherine Farris, Karen Whyte, Linda Lange, Linda Maasch, and Susan Corner.
The hallway cases carry rotating work from the Garth Homer ArtWorks Program and landscapes by Barb MacLeod, a former Toronto fibre artist who now paints in acrylics and mixed media.
The opening reception is Saturday, October 17, between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.
